This 1:14 video is of Erskine Bowles, Democratic co-chair of President Barack Obama‚Äôs National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, discussing Paul Ryan, his budget plan and the President’s budget. It was recorded a year ago and is must see video.

The Obama campaign and national Democrats are trying to scare voters about Paul Ryan and his plan. This video will be an eye-opener for anyone who thinks their claims are true … I repeat: this is Obama’s co-chair of his fiscal responsibility commission talking about Paul Ryan, not some Republican official. They can’t keep even their own stories straight. lol

  • Two points though- First, Ryan’s budget is really meaningless at this point. Romney has insisted that he has his own plan which might include parts of it, but it’s not law or a Republican plank. Second, is it just me or does it seem like suddenly, Obama is running against Ryan, not Romney? I don’t know if this is part of Romney’s strategy or not, but it’s interesting.

    • The president is going to have a problem because he just ran into a guy who is honest; he won’t compromise himself for political gain and he doesn’t need to. I don’t know what the president is doing but he’s sending the wrong message to people especially our youth. Now they think that being successful is some how lucky! Give me a break – he needs to go, along with his gangster type politics.

Ryan is honest? In April he was a HUGE fan Ayn Rand and now that he is the VP candidate he denounces Ayn. Yeah, that’s honest.

        • Well, first of all, it was in April that he said he wasn’t a big fan. This goes back to 2005 when he spoke in front of the “Atlas Society” and said she had a profound effect on him and she was required reading in his office. So you have your facts wrong, but the basic point right.

Ayn Rand is potentially toxic to any politician. She still is as inflammatory as she was 60 years ago and her arguments and philosophy are still as misunderstood and misrepresented as they have always been. Add to that her personal beliefs, many of which are anathema to mainstream America and some of her personal behavior which is difficult to reconcile with her philosophy (hey, guess what, she was a human too and we’re all kind of screwy sometimes) and it’s no surprise that he would distance himself from her.

Ayn Rand was correct in so many things and much of what she predicted in “Atlas Shrugged” is coming to pass, on the other hand, I totally disagree with her on abortion and I have difficulties with her atheism, but respect her opinion. The real problem is that while many of her ideas make complete sense, her believers (and her) left no room for differences of opinion even if based on reason.

  • Gary B.

Ryan is a lot better pick than any Biden or Clinton! The guy is smart, but some people can’t see past their noses and still want to discredit him….

  • Some are are not right or left – just Americans!!!

    • Absolutely correct Craig! We need more TRUE Americans, and quit partying.

  • Just DAMN! If THAT ain’t a torpedo into SS Obamatanic, I don’t know what is.

  • Obama has the nerve to bash someone esle budget when he does not even have any for three years. What an idot we have for a leader. It no wonder everything is so much worse now that he driving the train. We all need to get a new driver and turn this around………..TEN REASON TO FIRE OBAma……http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=51446)

History Lesson on Your Social Security Card

Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn’t
    know this.

It’s easy to check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show it to your
family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what’s what and it
doesn’t matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts. Here is something to think about.

Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card
were not to be used for identification purposes.

Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became
convenient to use it anyway and the message,

    NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.

An old Social Security card with the “NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION”
    message.

    Our Social Security

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social

    Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be

    Completely voluntary,

    No longer Voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay

1% of the first $1,400 of their annual

    Incomes into the Program,

Now 7.65% on the first $90,000

3.) That the money the participants elected to put

into the Program would be deductible from

their income for tax purposes each year,

    No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the

independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the

general operating fund, and therefore, would

only be used to fund the Social Security

    Retirement Program, and no other

    Government program, and,

Under Johnson the money was moved to

    The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

    Under Clinton & Gore

Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are

now receiving a Social Security check every month —

and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of

the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put

away’ — you may be interested in the following:

    ———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —-

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the

independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the

general fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically

    controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax

deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

    A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social

    Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the

‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the

Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

Q: Which Political Party decided to start

    giving annuity payments to immigrants?

    AND MY FAVORITE:

    A: That’s right!

Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.

Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,

began to receive Social Security payments! The

Democratic Party gave these payments to them,

even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),

the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your
Social Security away when in fact the Democrats are the real Social
    Security thieves.

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of

awareness will be planted and maybe changes will

evolve. But it’s worth a try. This is fact and nothing can change it.

How many people can YOU send this to?

Actions speak louder than bumper stickers
