Secede Petitions Reach 675 Thousand Signatures in 50 States

It seems the petitions to secede from the Union are gaining momentum.
To date, they have reached 675,000 signatures in 50-states.

Less than a week after a New Orleans suburbanite petitioned the White House to allow Louisiana to secede from the United States, petitions from seven states have collected enough signatures to trigger a promised review from the Obama administration.

By 6:00 a.m. EST today, more than 675,000 digital signatures appeared on 69 separate secession petitions covering all 50 states, according to a Daily Caller analysis of requests lodged with the White House’s “We the People” online petition system.

A petition from Vermont, where talk of secession is a regular feature of political life, was the final entry.

Petitions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas residents have accrued at least 25,000 signatures, the number the Obama administration says it will reward with a staff review of online proposals.
The Texas petition leads all others by a wide margin. Shortly before 9:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, it had attracted 94,700 signatures. But a spokesperson for Gov. Rick Perry said Tuesday afternoon that he does not support the idea of his state striking out on its own.
“Gov. Perry believes in the greatness of our Union and nothing should be done to change it. But he also shares the frustrations many Americans have with our federal government,” according to a statement from the governor’s office.

A backlash Monday night saw requests filed with the White House to strip citizenship rights from Americans who signed petitions to help states secede.

  • So, how do you feel about this Jan? I have been wondering how you were taking all this. I have mixed emotions about it. Although it would be nice not to have to deal with this administration…I just don’t want it to happen. I want the USA to stay WHOLE. Do you think any of this will really pan out?

  • a friend of mine pointed out how ironic it was for the same people who refuse to deport illegal aliens want the government to deport citizens who disagree with them

  • Orrie

Like everything else, the Obama adminstration will ignore the people’s voice. The House and Senate are no better. They have been silent for the last four years about all that Obama has done to bring America to where we are today. It would be great to have all 50 states secede but all the petitions will be denied and business as usual will move forward within this rogue government.

  • Scott Mullins

I told my friends that if they sign the petition they would be on a watch list. The Obama administration WILL ATTACK all of the people that sign this document. Remember folks, Barry doesn’t care how he destroys this nation and he doesn’t care who he destroys along the way. You will see the rath of the administration in the end.

People need to remember, the federal government controls the IRS, and they can use it as a weapon. Not to mention the fact that as tighter gun restrictions are imposed, signing a “radical” petition such as this could easily be used as grounds for disqualifying you. That is the very LEAST of what they can do with the names on these lists.

    • Scott are you letting him scare you into not signing. you are already on a watch list

  • Relayer

You know… I can’t help but think that libs are running with this idea to dump the constitution. It may have started as trying to get away from the socialists in the federal government but when I saw states like New York and California filing, I had to wonder why they would. Well, I guess this is that change that Obama promised.

  • raven1041

Maybe the best solution would be to start a petition to immediatly deport all illegal aliens from the United States. Then there would be more jobs and less State expenses. It might just save this Country.

    • Hendo9

That’s a gr8 idea Raven,Lets Hope The Ppl in Charge Smarten Up.But our ForeFathers Fought For This Country n Gave Their Lives For The United States Of America,No Seceding We Stand Strong n Unite,Bring Our Gr8 Country Back To Greatness.God Bless America

    • I’ve said this for years! But we have a president who sues everyone who tries. You think these terrorist organizations don’t know how to get in covertly all these years? Forget Afghanistan, militarize our borders NOW.

  • Archie

I sure wish I could think these petitions would so any good, but I don’t.

  • Sorry Jan, gonna have to disagree with you on the petitions. I am making a video that will take those to task who signed those….bet that will get some discussions going!

  • Jeff Brodhead

Perry’s spokesman “The Governor believes in the greatness of our Union…”
WHAT UNION? America is cracked down the middle – brain-dead zombies on the Left and (mostly) Americans on the Right. There is NO reconciliation with maggot-infested zombies.

  • Jeff Brodhead

Americans would do better by rejecting Amendment XIV and the “strawman” the FERAL (sp!) govt has created for each of us.

  • Jeff Brodhead

The other option is to round-up the DemonicRATs and drive them into the sea!

  • Wow a fresh breath of air from all the libtards on FB, I was going to post about this Jan, I am all for the end of the union. We are so divided a country that I believe we should end this. Look to me it’s like a Marriage. you live together for so long that you start hating each other…and the marriage becomes so difficult it become irreconcilable…2 people that hate each other can no longer live together other wise they will kill each other…that is what this “Union” has become. Time to divorce the blue states…let them go their own way,

  • bartmansan

The petitions, in my mind anyway, are only a ‘SYMBOL’. A symbol of the division that the democRATS built. They OWN it….It’s theirs alone.

We should be focused on taking the Senate and strengthening the house in 2014. Once we achieve that, we can eliminate this nightmare.

In the meantime, Stay strong my friends and stay focused.

  • Even Illinois! lol. Folks it’s my understanding the President has to o.k any state leaving the Union. Don’t think that will happen, but it is one way to show how upset many people are. JMHO

  • Jay

These petitions, in my view, are symbolic at best. The point is (I think) that so many people feel that the current federal government does NOT listen to the people it supposedly represents. Worse, the President, through all of his Executive Orders, is bypassing the Congress (We The People,) violating the Constitution in the process. We can only hope that these events by the populace will give the Congress enough of a push to grow a spine, and end this usurpation of Constitutionally-defined power. If they WON’T, then it will be up to the We The People…

  • Over 675,000? That’s not a small amount….. Out of all of them.. I think Texas probably has the best shot. They have a little known law that allows them to split their state up into smaller states. It was in their original… whatever you wanna call it.. paperwork.. when they joined the union. They don’t need congress to approve it. Just their own legislature. (Google it to find out more info.. I don’t have it in front of me here now if you wanna learn more about what I’m talkin about ).

  • HockeyPlayerX

Use your brains here people. Read the NDAA. Google FEMA detention centers. Signing one of these “petitions” (that are hosted by the Obama administrations semi-unofficial White House site) is like putting your name a reservation for a room in one of these concentration camps. You do this at your own peril. You have no idea who really started these petitions. Wake up guys.

  • I am concern about this jumping the gun on these secession petitions… Do we really understand the purpose behind this? Could there be a better way to deal with this?

  • We are natural born citizens. where the hell would they deport us too exactly?

    • I think Mexico will come in and take Texas over if this happens. The drug Cartel will be there faster than stink on shit! They will have it taken over before you can blink!

    • deport you to your free State

  • Are all these people republicans that want to secede?

  • Coastie

Somehow I don’t see the demoncrat states seceding…

  • This is exactly according to what I wrote and published yesterday regarding the act of Secession and the only recourse to be followed being by determination of each State refusing to submit to unlawful acts by the federal government.

A copy of this should be sent to every State Legislature for passage of similar
measures. One by one, the sensibility of each State will come to agree with the premise that the Constitution of the United States constitutes the highest and supreme law and authority in our nation, and any attempt by the federal government to usurp from the States powers which are limited by them in the Constitution will meet with peaceful and lawful resistance, which is their right.

I pray each one of you who reads this will write or telephone your State Representatives and urge them to pass a bill that will over-ride the abusive acts of our federal government and the current corrupt administration under Obama. This is the only way the Rule of Law and the Limitation of Powers over the federal government can be secured in the face of tyranny and treason. ~ The American Patriot
