North Korea warned today it plans to conduct more long-range rocket launches and carry out a “high-level” nuclear test targeted at the United States in response to a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning its December rocket launch and expanding sanctions.

The National Defense Commission, North Korea’s top military body, denounced Tuesday’s U.N. ┬áresolution to censure and sanction the regime for conducting missile activity that violates U.N. rules, according to a Reuters report.

The commission reaffirmed in its declaration that December’s rocket launch was a peaceful bid to send a satellite into space, but also said the country’s rocket launches have a military purpose: to strike and attack the United States.

“We do not hide that a variety of satellites and long-range rockets which will be launched by the DPRK one after another and a nuclear test of higher level which will be carried out by it in the upcoming all-out action, a new phase of the anti-U.S. struggle that has lasted century after century, will target against the U.S., the sworn enemy of the Korean people,” the commission said, referring to North Korea by its official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

“Settling accounts with the U.S. needs to be done with force, not with words, as it regards jungle law as the rule of its survival,” the commission added.
The U.S. State Department had no immediate response to Thursday’s statement. Shortly before the commission issued its declaration, U.S. envoy on North Korea Glyn Davies urged Pyongyang not to explode an atomic device.

“Whether North Korea tests or not, it’s up to North Korea. We hope they don’t do it. We call on them not to do it,” he told reporters in Seoul after meeting with South Korean officials. “It will be a mistake and a missed opportunity if they were to do it.”

Davies said that if North Korea begins “to take concrete steps to indicate their interest in returning to diplomacy, they may find in their negotiating partners willing partners in that process.”
While experts say North Korea doesn’t have the capability to hit the U.S. with its missiles, recent tests and rhetoric indicate the country is feverishly working toward that goal.

These Koreans must be stupid. We may have gotten rid of some, but we still have enough nukes that CAN reach them to turn that country into a parking lot.

    • john

Tomahawks can carry nukes but do you really think Obama would do it? Not a chance in hell!

    • RMurbach1961

Too late. That country is a parking lot…..without cars!

  • Wayne

Maybe we need to ban nukes in North Korea. That should work.

    • john

Yeah, and they should register their AK-47’s, too!

  • Arthur Mackey

Two Ohio Class subs with their multiple warhead missiles could take out all of North Korea in a matter of seconds that this stupid slope can’t even fathom much less understand !

    • DJ

      you’re a racist prick.

      • Bud

        Ebi shebi pek pogi da.

  • Buck

My personal thoughts on the matter is so long as they don’t nuke anything except Kalifornicate go for it .

  • Beno

Can’t trust N. Korea or our other enemies the islamist with Iran at the top of that list.

  • JustMeInAZ

I have friends in South Korea, people I work with. I would hate to think how they wouild be harmed if we sent a nuke or two back to North Korea. Since the country is so small, maybe not waste a nuke, but use conventional bombs.

    • john

Do you really think Obama would retaliate? He’d probably make an apology video and put it on YouTube…

      • MR.RIGHT

No he would call them to say go ahead just let me get out before you do it!

  • It seems the UN security council carries a lot of weght in N. Korea. HaHa! Their recallection of their struggle against the USA “century after centruy” is somewhat mystifying considering the DPRK (N. Korea) has only been in existence since 1948. Even they have nothing more terrifying than words, contrary to their threats, they do represent a gnat that can instigate more serious actions considering their friends are Russia and China. We just can’t be fooled like Clinton when he gave them money to not develop nuclear technology.

  • tired of this

I say we do a test too. Lets see how long it takes a boomer to make North Korea glow in the dark so it can be seen from the space station.

  • Lloyd

WE could blanket bomb them from one end to the other with conventional bombs, and still have enough to take out the middle east the same way. It would be some message to the rest of the world about trying to invade the U.S. now wouldn’t it.

  • A few small nukes dropped in the correct places in North Korea would do much better than sanctions. Take out the party leaders and North Korea becomes a non-issue.

  • reggiec

North Korea, led by certifiablly insane people, and Iran, ditto, will most likely start the next WW.

    • Neil

Never happen. China will shutdown the N. Koreans before they get that far. And Iran has invested far too much time and effort to risk that kind of conflict.

I ask all you Hollywood elitists do you trust obammys chief comrad advisor direct from a communist family background comrad Valerie Jarret to make the right decision for this embicile who hasnt learned the basics of public speaking or speech writing wihout a teleprompter and Soroses speech writers to make a speech. Do you expect your bony man from kenya with the bromstick legs peanut head and alligator mouth to keep that nuclear warhead from raining hell fire and destruction on your heathen heads? You better ask valerie because without his teleprompter stymie cant tell you or make a decision he chickens out and freezes up. How do you like his sissywalk down the ramp off Air Force 1 or his gay style golf swing?

  • Neil

Obama would not nuke North Korea or any other country. He needs to remain the quintessential pacifist. Just like the Chinese would not allow the N. Koreans to nuke any country. This is blatant saber-rattling on the part of the North Koreans, nothing new, just by a different means. They are due their regular gifts of food and fuel; they do not have the raw materials or natural resources within their borders to sustain themselves. Nor do they have the knowledge base to develop or maintain the resources they do have.

As far as Obama is concerned, we need to look at who his master(s) is/are. For it is they who are controlling what he says and does; he is merely a puppet. There is no way a freshman Senator should have made it to the Presidency; “Camelot” is no longer.

  • Tracy

No high capacity nukes for you Kim jun dung

  • Hotrod

If they attack America, we should wipe them off the map!

  • Instead of being worried about testing nukes and spending God knows on developing and testing– N Korea needs to worry about feeding their own peeps first – so they can stop torturing (because it tenderizes the meat- they said) and eating cats and dogs! Feed your people-not war!

  • Can you say “little man syndrome”

  • Jack

Please North Korea is laughing at this President we have now .They will continue to do these tests over and over .Because they know he will not do anything .I will say that the President has a secret weapon, he can used on North Korea . It is this if he really wants to scare that goverement .All he has to do is have Beyonce sing( or try to ) there national anthem. That will scare everbody there to go hide. So you people there one day that radio and Tv may be interrupted by our goverment. She knows how to sing our anthem good right?. Sorry I just still sick thinking about that. So one day in your country that radio and tv may be bad ,for your health one day
