According to TPM, America’s favorite never-let-a-crisis-go-to-waste administration is preparing to ram through a number of restrictions to our Second Amendment civil rights as early as Jan 15. The idea behind this strategy is to strike while people’s heightened emotions are still scrambling common sense:
The White House and gun control supporters are gearing up for a whirlwind month, with plans to pass reform legislation before outrage over the Sandy Hook massacre has a chance to fade. …
House Democrats are moving ahead with their own plans as well. On Friday, Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), chair of the newly created Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, announced the appointment of 12 vice chairs, including Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), the body’s leading voice on gun control. According to a Democratic aide, the group plans to release its recommendations in early February and is already organizing public hearings on the issue.

Obama has personally identified an assault weapons ban and limits on ammunition magazine size as top priorities. Other possible reforms could include background check requirements for purchases at gun shows, a loophole that’s helped create a huge market of off-record arms purchases.

Gun Control, Rergulations, Confiscation, Trojan Horse, Statist anti-therical to 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed

We need obama control and not gun control.

      And all his demons!

We won’t have any say in the matter. We already cannot buy ‘assault rifles’. At least I cannot find a shop that is selling them. Have also been looking for extra magazines with no luck. Look how many gun distributors are cooperating already. I’ve also heard of manufacturers agreeing to stop making AR’s and the like. This administration is bound to take our rights at any cost.

    • “Assault Weapons” already require a Tax Stamp from BATFE to own. I already own three true Vietnam Era “Assault Weapons” and have the Tax Stamps for them. Getting my SKS on Friday with two 30 Round conversion mags…$400.00…Love It!!!

Welcome to the NWO socialistic utopia. There’s going to be a lot of bleed shed once they try to take away guns from people. God help us all. We’re going to need it.

  • America, this is another reason we need the 28th Amendment. Citizens should have no limits to their right to bear arms beyond what is currently on the books. You can bet that the restrictions will not apply to our so called “representatives”. No law should be passed on the people which does not apply equally to the President and the Congress. They are supposed to be public servants, not our masters.

    • Discusted

Very well said Dan,they think we must serve them and they own this Country..Term Limits would solve many problems in Washington.

    • Not quite right, DAN. “…no limits… beyond what is currently on the books”…. I think NO LIMITS … PERIOD !!! … and forget what’s currently on the books… There are NO LIMITS in the 2nd Amendment…

      • True! I stand corrected and agree completely. NDAA functionally defines all of the US as a battle ground. Iraqi citizens are allowed to have one fully automatic weapon per household because their country is a war zone. I would argue that with the passage of NDAA, US citizens should have the same rights as the Iraqis.

the Dick act of 1902 keeps them from doing a darn thing.. unless the lawless one is exposed.. which he may very well be.(OBAMA)

  • Once again, this so called gun show “loophole” is not at all a loophole. 90% of vendors at gun shows are Federal Firearms License holders. That means at gun shows if you buy a weapon you have to go through the background check that the law requires. If a person has their own gun collection that they want to sell they are not required to have a Federal Firearms License. The media and this article make it sound like thousands of private collectors are at these shows. This is plainly not the case.

If I want to sell one of my own guns I have every right to do so. If they are allowed to pass this law then they are once again interfering with my private life; the very thing that they accuse the conservatives of doing.

  • A Rouge Administration with no clue what lurks in the shadows waiting for our society to weaken. Our President knows what lurks, because he is living it.
What do you think is going through the Man’s Mind???

  • mad as hattee’s

Our so called leader is setting us up for a take over. Take away the guns And then let the military go over And fight a war that has been over for a while now leaving us unprotected And easy pickings. Kinda sounds like he’s turning into the dictator doesn’t it. We need to limit the number of years a person can serve in govt. All govt local, state and federal. I’m just waiting for Texas to succeed for the USA And become its own courty. They have the right to do it. Its in their charter from when they became part of the USA..

  • Patrick

This is scary how fast our right can be taken away. We all need to voice our opinions to our elected officials. Write your senators and representatives expressing your opposition to such anti-gun legislation.

  • I say…if you Voted for Obama…then the Gun Control should be yours. If you Voted for Romney…you should get a new gun for being smart enough to see through the smoke and mirrors!!!!!

    • CV

Sounds like 1860 all over again. They have their president and their laws and we have our President and our laws.

    • teresa cunha

Just a funny thought……. Romney voters got their guns and the Obama voters got their phones…..lol…. That will protect them should their house have a break in.

  • Fed-Up with Bullshit

Every state needs to organize a large scale march on their capitol in order to get media coverage of mass numbers of citizens that are not gonna be willingly enslaved by a tyrannical government.

As Soldiers we swore an Oath and that specifically said “Against All Enemies Foreign and Domestic” The hard part is that the Oath does not end with our term of service, by hard part I mean it is we who have Sworn to protect and it ended in So Help Me God. Last I checked he did not say we were being Relieved From Our Watch. Being realistic here, none of us wants to even consider what is happening on our home soil it knocks the wind out of you and then makes you sick to even ponder. This being said we have a job, paid or not to protect the United States and her people. Washington should tread very lightly when considering their actions on the second amendment and no that is no threat but a fact.

  • Weru

Humm. Yeah Jobs, Economy issues they ignore. This they latch onto like a lamprey.
Interesting isn’t it that we can’t even discuss Benghazi until the full investigation, but the Sandy Hill incident will cause us to push multiple pieces of law that affects the constitutional rights of Americans without having the full investigation. While I’m not sure if true, I’ve heard rumors that the AR15 wasn’t even taken to the crime scene. You would think that elected officials would want to be “thoughtful and introspective” rather than “emotional and impulsive”.

    • Michigan_REB

The press can find out the killer’s shoe size and what he had for breakfast before the bodies are removed from the building but, they can’t be bothered to investigate or verify a single fact they publish or report.Or, be bothered with the truth. Stop glorifing these idiots and report them as a deranged murder and nothing more No name, No information, and No picture.

      just watch the show…lol

  • Although we all speak of term limits as a good thing I am having second thoughts about it. Lame duck Presidents, such as the one we have now, have no reason to make the populace happy. I can’t even imagine if half the Congress now were lame duck representatives. The one thing that makes them want to please their constituents is re-election. So that leaves in my mind one way to get through to them, tell them to remember what happened to their numbers in 2010 and remind them that 2014 is just around the corner. JMHO

    • The problem is we have career politicans in there that wouldn’t know what a job is we need to get them all out and start over with non lawyers and such just men and women that know what’s it like to live from paycheck to paycheck if your lucky enough to have a job.

”Just when these American citizens needed their rights most, the government took them away. And rights aren’t rights if someone can take them away. They’re privileges. That’s all we’ve ever had in this country, a bill of TEMPORARY privileges. And if you read the news, even badly, you will know the list gets shorter, and shorter and shorter.

Sooner or later, the people in this country are going to realize the government doesn’t give a fck about them. The government doesn’t care about you, or your children, or your rights, or your welfare or your safety. It simply doesn’t give a fck about you. It’s interested in its own power. That’s the only thing. Keeping it, and expanding it wherever possible.”

    George Carlin

    I believe he is right!

  • I thought his top priority was “Jobs”. Oh wait.. it was “The Economy”… oh wait… His top priority was “Stopping Government Waste”… wait a week, his priority will change back to the original “Kill the American Spirit”

  • QUOTE: Other possible reforms could include background check requirements for

WRONG! It’s not a loop-hole and it has created no such thing. “Off-record” arms purchases? You mean private sales between U.S. citizens? Why does there need to be a government record of me selling something I have a RIGHT to own to someone who also has a RIGHT to own it? A bill of sale in hand is all the documentation needed.

this was reported January 5th and none of a$$holes crap went thru. The lame duck will drown in his own lies
