Gun Store Rescinds Rifle Sale Request by Gabby Gifford’s Hubby… Questions “Intent”

Screen Shot 2013-03-11 at 1.17.33 PMA Tucson gun store owner has decided to rescind the sale of a military-style rifle to Mark Kelly, the husband of former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, after Kelly said he had intended the purchase to make a political point about how easy it is to obtain the kind of firearms he’s lobbying Congress to ban.

Kelly’s March 5 purchase of an AR-15-style rifle and a 45.-caliber handgun at Diamondback Police Supply sparked a frenzy of reaction from both sides of the debate after he posted to Facebook a photo of himself shopping.

A background check took only a matter of minutes to complete, Kelly said in the Facebook post, adding that it’s scary to think people can buy similar guns without background checks at gun shows or on the Internet.

  • Just How dumb are the democrats?

    • billygeturgun

Dumb enough to believe that whitewash!

    • pretty damned dumb it seems. he only said he was going to give it to PD because he caught serious heat for the purchase. I hate liberal hypocrisy!

  • Bill1966

You watch, the FBI will NOT do anything to Kelly either! He violated Federal Law by disclosing that he intended to give the weapons to someone else, in this case the local PD. No matter whom he intended to GIVE the weapons to, he violated Federal law and should be justly prosecuted for it. If I had done this I can guarantee I would be sitting in a jail cell right now.

Hey … if you can go on national TV and commit a crime by openly showing off your illegal 30 rd. magazine … AND they do NOTHING to you … why should they go after this nut job ???

    • Is a thirty round magazine illegal? News to me in my town/country.

      • It was in the state in which the incident he is referring to occurred!

        • David Gregory displayed the mag on ‘Meet The Press’ in NYC. What’s worse, he had just consumed a 17 oz. sugary drink before the show started

      • rp

In DC it is and he was talking about David Gregory pulling his stunt by waving around an empty 30 round magazine on TV. Gregory was never arrested, but there was a veteran that was arrested and imprisoned for having just some ammo and a couple magazines in his luggage that he had forgotten to take out of his bag about the same time.

  • These people think they are this country’s elite & that our laws do not affect them! & the rest of us are their peasants!

In my state 30 rd mags are legal, maybe the guys from Ca.! First question on the form when you fill it out…are you buying this for yourself …

  • MichaelPerkins

Dumbass makes a strawman purchase & watch the Police, do NOTHING!

  • rp

In a way, I question if the gun store actually knew Kelly. He should be a celebrity around that area and maybe has bought guns from these people before. I wonder if the gun store owners were doing damage control for themselves and him. It didn’t look good for the guns store selling the guns to him and Kelly was exposed as a genuine liberal hypocrite. It took several days for the gun dealer to take this action, sounds fishy to me. Maybe the dealer was given some sort of deal to get Kelly out of hot water and make themselves look better.

Funny how the people in the lime light get treated different than the average person, try buying a gun and then try and return it, yeah right!

  • Great he is a liar & mental case!

  • Dogbreath077

I do believe that making a straw purchase is illegal. If he bought the gun with the intent of turning it over to some one else, even the police, then it is a violation of federal law.
