Although Democrats and progressives have claimed politicians who oppose gun control will lose their offices at the hands of angry, pro-gun control Americans in coming elections, a pro-gun Republican just won in Connecticut. It is the first time a Republican has held the seat in 40 years.
Samuel Belsito won the Connecticut State Legislature’s 53rd District in a special election to replace Democrat representative Bryan Hurlburt.
Belsito’s election runs 100% counter to the argument that pro-gun positions will hurt politicians. For example, Belsito won although he made it clear he would have opposed the recent body of gun control legislation that passed in Connecticut.
In fact, the pro-gun control sentiment is at such a low ebb that Belsito’s Democrat opponent Anthony Horn said he would have voted “no” on the gun control legislation as well.
Nevertheless, voters chose the Republican, and it’s the first time in 40 years that voters in that district have done so.

Do you suppose that Obama will just IGNORE this or will he try to spin it to make it SEEM that this is another indication of MASSIVE support for gun control.
You see, HE LIES. And those who believe him are following the FATHER OF LIES.

I think people realize that if gun confiscation were to take place, that would leave the criminals with guns, because there is no way they would turn guns in . Especially since they are probably not registered anyway.

    • Shawn O’Loughlin

Nail on the head, Carol Christine. Why would anyone’s guns be registered? Almost no states have gun registration, the exceptions being the most heavily communist dominated, like california. Fortunately, most Americans believe it’s none of the government’s business what we own. The Progressive Communists are really pushing hard for gun prohibition since they’ve achieved so much on other socialist programs, such as welfare and health care. Hopefully we’ll be able to turn back the tides and remove all of the communist programs they’ve instituted here.

Now let’s follow up in every state in the union!

maybe crime has gone down by 39% in 2012 compered to 2011. It could be the heavy handed attempts of the democrats at gun control and irony of Joe Biden shot gun statement. It could be America’s is sick and tried of a possible common criminal who if he returned to Britain would be charged with internet crime Piers Morgan. Fire, deport and let Scotland yard handle the rest Piers.
