The Washington Times reported recently that the Congressional Black Caucus is recommending Sheila Jackson-Lee for the position of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
The following is an editorial response from Lori Wallach Boxer to this recommendation.

If this wasn’t serious, it would be absolutely piss-in-your-pants funny: The Congressional Black Caucus is suggesting that ObeyMe appoint Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee to the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. The Congressional Black Caucus called her “a voice of reason that the agency could stand to gain.”

A “voice of REASON?!” She’s the voice of RACISM.

This is the same woman who during a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives, stated that Republicans were refusing to raise the debt ceiling because President Obama is Black.

This is the same woman who in July of 2010 spoke at an NAACP event and accused TEA Party members of being modern day members of the KKK.

This is the same woman who, on the floor of the House, gave her opinion that Rush Limbaugh should not be allowed to be a partial owner of a football team because of his political beliefs.

Sheila Jackson-Lee—the dumbest woman, mammal and oxygen-breathing life-form in Congress —is what happens when you mandate gerrymandering as a tool of social policy for forty years.

This is the same idiot who, during a 2005 visit to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, asked the tour guide whether the Mars Pathfinder had taken a photograph of the flag planted on Mars by Neil Armstrong in 1969.

This is the same woman who, in a speech on the floor of the House, spoke about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and used the example of North and South Vietnam living side by side as an example of the peace that can be achieved by withdrawing our troops and allowing the people of Iraq and Afghanistan to work out a solution.

This is the same woman who, on the floor of the House, said, “I stand here as a freed slave because this Congress came together. Are we going to be able to do it today to free America?”

To quote Daniel Greenfield in an article he wrote about Sheila Jackson-Lee on July 26, 2011: “If there were ever a global championship for idiots, the country could send her there … and leave her there; because unlike Lassie, she wouldn’t be able find her way back on her own.”

Yes … let’s have HER in charge of Homeland Security … and who best to serve as her Assistant Secretary? Well, that’s a no-brainer, folks. How about another of the too-many-to-choose-from dumbed down dolts in the Congressional Black Caucus—Rep. Hank Johnson? … he who doesn’t think that Guam will tip over and capsize if 8,000 Marines are stationed there.

Hmm … I wonder if the Congressional WHITE Caucus will be recommending anyone for the DHS post. What’s that you say? There ISN’T a White Congressional Caucus?

OK, I absolutely have to share this. I don’t know what the Congressional Black Caucus actually does (hmmm, imagine the outrage if the Congressional White Caucus was formed) … nevertheless, this one made me laugh ……… hard.

    • FlCraCKER

Check under the section marked chit stirrers you will find correct degfinition of Congressional Black Caucus.

    • My initial reaction was to laugh … but then I saw that they were making a serious effort to have her appointed and were not just joking around.

    • cHUCK

If we formed a “Congressional White Caucus,” imagine the charges of racism that would be immediately raised! We need to put the same political pressure on those who institutionalize “reverse discrimination!” Have the courage to stand up and call the CBC exactly what it is: A bunch of racist bigots! They don’t even truly represent the American black community!

  • Jerry Lewis

I beg to differ – Maxine Waters is the dumbest person in Congress…No, it’s Nancy Pelosi…No, it’s Harry Reid…no, it’s former Congressman Weiner…ah, hell…they’re all so stupid on the Left, who to pick?

    • mathis1689

When they put the definition of moron in the dictionary they had to put it on a page of it’s own because one page couldn’t hold all the photos of the Democrats who fit the description.

    • Mike Young

Unfortunately Jerry Lewis, you are incorrect, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, former Congressman Weinber are not the dumbest people on the Left because they enticed people to actually vote them into office, so the dumbest people on the left are the voters who voted for them, the voters were Obots and never researched these lefty Congresspeople they just believed everything they were told and voted for them.

      • cHUCK

A voice of reason in a sea of… well, I’m not going to get bogged down in a debate over who’s got more “cumulus granite” (an old pilot’s term for rocks hidden behind the clouds just waiting for unsuspected aircraft to fly through…) between the ears.

My own Senator Johnson commented recently that it’s amazing how a majority of the American people keep on electing and re-electing the people who pass the destructive legislation that’s messing up our economy and our Constitutional republic.

His answer to the problem? A solution that’s been raised by too few people far too seldom – especially in the halls of Congress: We must take the power out of the hands of those to whom we’ve given way too much over the years – those who run the federal government for fun and profit at the expense of the American taxpayers rather than for the true, long term benefit of those taxpayers.

Our Constitution provided for a federal government limited in scope and power, with most of the power to govern resting with the several states and the people. We’ve given up too much of that power over the generations in return for the establishment and growth of a “nanny” government that feeds on the taxpayer and considers failure a reason to grow itself even more – at the expense of the taxpayers.

It’s not just election fraud that keeps these leaches in power. It’s the 47% of Americans who live in our welfare society at the expense of the taxpayers who finance – albeit unwillingly – that society; and it’s the 75% of eligible conservative voters who don’t bother to vote who push the liberals over the top in too many elections. If 100% of conservative, patriotic citizens would vote for like-minded candidates in EVERY election, at ALL levels of government, the political problem could be solved in about 6 years and the financial problems in about ten years.

If too many voters don’t start listening to the likes of WI Sen. Johnson and WI Governor Walker, we’re less than 30 years away from a complete national bankruptcy that will utterly destroy this country. We can’t wait 4 years, 2 years, or even 1 year to start fixing the problem. We must start NOW pushing our elected critters to do the right thing and reduce the size of the federal government drastically – starting with the IRS, and demanding accountability from federal agencies – starting with the DOJ and NSA.

If we allow a bunch of bureaucrats in alphabet agencies to remain unaccountable to the American people, and if we just keep electing the same old liberal, “nanny-state” crowd to Congress, 30 years from now there won’t be a United States of America.

It may become the American Socialist Republic, or the American Islamic Republic, or something else totally alien to what our nation’s founders established a bit over 200 years ago… but the great American “experiment” will have failed. Not primarily because of some foreign military takeover, but because of a fundamental apathy among American citizens that – over time – gave away the freedoms and values upon which the United States of America was founded.

Omar Kayam said, “…when ignorance is bliss, ’tis folly to be wise!” In the case of this nation, the problem isn’t ignorance, it’s apathy!

This woman comes from Harris County, Houston Texas….and she is INDEED the biggest biased IDIOT in congress….her mouth opens and STUPID just rolls right out…She couldh’t pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel…..

    • Honorary

Thank you, I have a good laugh after I vomitted when I looked at aunt Jamiama, LMAO.

    • cHUCK

This nut case got started in Texas politics. HOW DID SHE SURVIVE?

  • Starbrander

    Let’s Just Call Them…..The D- Team

  • Stupidity knows NO race! EVERY race has idiots in them! Let’s ask Palin where the flag is planted?

    • Palin is probably smarter than you.

    • DOUGLAS GILLARD

That does not change the fact that Sheila Jackson Lee is an idiot! Nobody has brought up race except you.

  • Dano K.

Just like there isn’t a “WET” (White Entertainment Television) because, that would be racist! BUT, there is a “BET” (Black Entertainment Television) because, that isn’t racist, right?! Oh and let’s not forget all the Black stand-up (so called) comics/comedians that make none-stop Racist remarks and jokes about Whites BUT again, if Whites even try that, all Hell breaks lose.

However, the bottom line is; the staged 9-11 towers attack which was actually a planned demolition to bring about the TSA and DHS to slowly work at stripping away our Liberty and Freedoms hence the reason the DHS is buying up so much ammo and why the TSA is branching out of airports and into areas they are not needed or wanted.

This is also why; “We the People” MUST do everything we can at our disposal to abolish these Government (NAZIS) departments!
    “Live Free or, Die Hard”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • astrojohn

you were doing fine until the 2nd paragraph…

      • Dave Eboch

You believe the official 911 story? It is the biggest lie ever told. To this day we have not been told the truth. Even the videos on you tube look edited now. There is no coverage of those planes coming from across the Hudson river and I remember that when it happened. Someone mentioned there were no windows on the plane and that is why it was edited.

    • Johhny

Staged 9-11 towers attack which was actually a planned demolition. Hey guy you have a serious issue with reality.

      • cHUCK

The reality is that Islamic terrorists perpetrated the attack and Islamic terrorist leaders took credit for it immediately after the fact. Conspiracy theories only confuse the issue and divide the American people in the midst of the REAL conspiracy – that of Islamic jihad both abroad and withing the U.S. The question we must ask is WHY those in our federal government, which is charged under our Constitution with providing for the “common defense” isn’t breaking up the Muslim training camps and schools located withing our own country. There’s plenty of evidence that these things exist… even WHERE they are located. Our DHS should be focusing on getting rid of them. If they’re ignored long enough, we’ll be facing problems like those in England and other countries. Only Australia has had the courage to tell their Muslim immigrants to either join the Australian culture or leave the country. WE should take that example seriously.

  • Dave Eboch

I think Obama is doing a great job! He isn’t kissing the ass of the elite rich and they have instructed the corrupt media to attack him with phoney scandals.

    • CherokeeDan

      Double idiot alert.

  • Dave Eboch

Sheila Jackson Lee is tough as nails and won’t take any nonsense of the elite rich.Fantastic choice! Obama is an honest black man who won’t take a bribe and cant be bought like so many of my white brethren.

    • loriboxer

Oh, geez … thanks for the laugh! What a hoot!

    • CherokeeDan

      Idiot alert.

    • DOUGLAS GILLARD

Sheila Jackson Lee is dumb as nails and so are you if you believe that nonsense!

    • Kathy

OMG!!!! Please tell me this is sarcasm so I can laugh

  • Dave Eboch

Furthermore all the white people attacking Obama need to realize that one percent cares absolutely nothing about you!

    • CherokeeDan

      Triple idiot alert…ding, ding, ding!!!

    • DOUGLAS GILLARD

I’m not sure which is dumber; you or a bag of hammers.

  • randolph.poole

It is a toss-up as to who is stupider, Shiela Jackson Lee or Maxine Waters. If there ever was a case for retroactive abortion, these two would be poster children!

  • DONNA LANDS

No one can say it better then Jerry Lewis- Personally I think most Democrats are jackasses and that’s why our country is in the condition it is in not to mention all the power the public union has over this countries finances. They are above the law and they know it.

    • cHUCK

The reason they’re above the law is because WE (collectively) allow it to be so.

      • DONNA LANDS

No its because Davis Bacon act of 1931,Norris-LaGuardia Act of 1931 and the National Labor relations Act of 1935. Public Unions get special protections and they are above anti trust laws. If a public union employee could be sued for their actions then they would be responsible for their actions which they are not!

        • cHUCK

I don’t disagree. But these laws should never have been passed. I can’t help but think that, given sufficient public outcry, they might NOT have been – and in all the time since the 30’s there’s been no effort to repeal them as far as I know.

In fact, you never hear a word about these laws – even from those who are now trying to put some controls on the unions. Any mention of problems with out-of-control unions comes from a certain group now trying to prevent them from forcing a mandatory “card check” procedure in an effort to force union membership and payment of union dues as a condition of employment for ALL workers.

Because those who came before failed in their duty to stand against oppression and prevent excessive union power, today’s workers are being forced to fight a defensive battle against it.

It’s the same principle in government. We’re now fighting a defensive battle against an increasingly oppressive federal government because we and those who came before failed to do their duty to uphold and defend our Constitution. Now that Constitution is in danger of being either re-written or trashed by a federal government that’s grown out of control… just as the unions have grown out of control!

          • DONNA LANDS

These laws should have never been passed. You wonder why all these highway and bridges can’t be rebuilt at a competitive price. They have to pay DOT(Depart of Transportation) union wages. We can’t afford to fix them at the wages they want.
The government is more then out of control. They are oppressive and controlling. The elite are the retired government workers. They rake in thousands per month. All the lake homes and huge mountain retreats are owned by retired government workers. Americans can’t afford these high wages. Policemen and firemen making 120,000 a year? Highway department heads making hundreds of thousands. Teachers at colleges making outrageous sums. If young boycotted the colleges they would have to lower their fees
I worked at a government job as a start up janitor when hubby and I moved back to Washington. The job always led to building maintenance. Everyone started as janitors. I never have been treated like dirt so bad. The union was the worst. The bus drivers went out of their way to be rude and cruel. The union are truly whores. They rip off the tax payer all the time and its a “oh well” attitude they have towards the tax payer.
I don’t understand what the “Fema camps that are built to hold 50 million people is about”? Is Sheila going to line up all the light skinned people,Conservatives,Christian & Jews”? Why does every Federal Agency have a trained swat police brigades and no one on our armed bases are allowed to carry guns?
Look at our debt clock. They know the next bubble coming is the government bubble. My US Rep even said it at a town meeting. Countries around this planet know whats going on. They realize we have a bunch fools running around like a bunch chickens with their heads cut off. They watch the news too. I have friends from other countries and they can’t believe Americans buy into the lines coming out of this Government.
I do not have any iota of trust in what they say because its all talk. Its always about the shim sham and not the truth. They think they can continue to make fools out of everybody. Its truly shameful how they constantly try to insult people’s intelligence!

          • cHUCK

Donna: You have a lot of valid questions, and I wish I had the time and space to address them all. I do think there’s a lot of deceit and disinformation coming from our Congress and the White House. As a result, a lot of people get apathetic and more or less just give up. Many really conservative people don’t even bother to vote.

I also agree that the perception of the U.S. in other countries has suffered greatly, especially since 2008, and is getting worse as Obama’s 2nd term unwinds. We now have our worst enemies within our own borders, and nothing is being done about it.

I need to correct your perception of government workers. I retired 3 years ago with 44 years total federal service. I and my wife do NOT live in a luxury lakeside or mountain home, nor do we rake in “thousands” per month, and I PAID for my pension out of my earnings over those 40 years. We’ve managed to buy an old, somewhat junky $35K house, on which we still owe over $20K.

I was a member of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). The only reason was because they offered dental insurance (for a price) which I couldn’t get via civil service. AFGE NEVER had any power to negotiate salaries, and is prohibited by law from striking.

Pay grades for federal workers are set by the Office of Personnel Management according to the job. Members of CONGRESS, however, get around $200K plus benefits, and can vote themselves pay raises every year! I never made more than $45K as a senior GS-11.

I get about a third of that since retirement and I paid for my annuity out of my salary while I was working. I’ll start drawing from a separate annuity I bought with my own money when I’m about 71, and will be taxed on ALL of it. Frankly, a plumber or electrician makes more that I did as a federal worker, and works less hours.

Most STATE workers make a lot more than federal workers, and their unions often have bargaining powers and can strike, but I don’t know any police officers or firemen who get paid even close to $120K. I live in Wisconsin, where state workers are unionized, and the public service unions here DID have bargaining powers and COULD strike before Gov. Walker put a stop to it. Teachers here, especially at universities, tend to make obscene salaries and benefits, and that’s a big issue. State DOT workers are unionized, and I suspect they make better wages than their private sector counterparts.

All of that said, there are issues with both our state and federal governments that need to be resolved – and it seems that many citizens haven’t a clue. Whether they believe the lies being fed to them by politicians, or whether they’ve just had too much of that and don’t care anymore, the effect is the same. We’re losing our freedom, we’re losing control of our nation, and we’re all collectively to blame because we can’t get educated, organized and active enough to fix the problems.

          • DONNA LANDS

Thank you Chuck for enlightening me further. I need that from time to time. Thank you for working as a public servant for our country. I just see the numbers on the debt clock looking like a upside down pyramid and the eye is us. I can’t recall the name of the kinda Federal agency that guarantees retirement benefits? Anyways that system is getting deeper in the red. Its the elephant in the room no one talks about. No one talks about the debt clock. You want to watch an elected official squirm bring up the debt clock at a town hall. Ask them how are they or could they fix it? The way to repair anything is to troubleshoot it. Look, listen and feel. Use all your senses? The answer I was looking for there is or could be a solution not the next bubble coming is the government bubble? Maybe thats what the FEMA camps are for. Thats what Obama care is for. I think its a travesty to take from Medicare from retired folks and spread the wealth to others. The retired people, you mark my words-will be about not allowing us to live to be older. If we do not live then the benefits do not need to be paid out. The Democrats signed our death warrants to have a earliar check out date.
When the government bubble bursts…could you make it without money from the government? I know and you probably know lots of people who couldn’t. It will be mass hysteria. What if we went to the bank & the money was worthless?
The answer given at the Town Hall makes me surely believe it. How honorable of my Rep to warn us. You know thats the talk behind closed doors. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

          • cHUCK

The federal debt is already so deep that we common folks can never hope to dig it out. The only possible solution is to cut the size of the federal government back to its Constitutional limits, force it to submit and annual budget to Congress (required but currently ignored. Obama hasn’t had a budget since he was elected!), force a balanced budget law or Constitutional amendment, force a policy that for every new expenditure, an old one must be eliminated, reduce the deficit spending limit to zero, force the federal government to stop borrowing money and stop printing money, and work out a way to return to gold & silver standards for our currency. That’s a lot of very big issues to address, and neither the Democrats nor the Republicans want to tackle them.

Federal agencies that guarantee retirement benefits? As far as I know there aren’t any. Social Security is NOT a retirement program, has long ago served its intended purpose, has bee so badly abused over the years (generations, really) that it will likely not survive the onslaught of Team Obama upon our economy. The “government bubble,” I’m afraid, has already burst big time!

As a federal employee, I paid for my own retirement. The only two groups of people who get a “guaranteed” retirement are Congress and the military. Congressional retirements should really be abandoned. It was clearly NOT the intend of our founders that citizens become career politicians, get into federal (or state) jobs and stay there for 20, 30, 40 years or more (Strom Thurman celebrated his 100th birthday in the halls of Congress!), then retire on full salary at public expense. Even a cursory review of our nation’s history would reveal that citizens got elected to public office, went off to do their civic duty for a time, then returned to private life and lived with the consequences of the laws and policies they created. Most of these folks are already incredibly wealthy when they first get into politics, and get even richer while they’re in office. They don’t really deserve a big chunk of taxpayer money when they retire.

As for our military – these guys are our nation’s finest resources, our truest patriots, many of whom give their lives, or at least significant chunks of their bodies, while in service. They get retirements only if they survive through 20 years or more of military duty OR get medical retirements due to combat injuries. Their retirement income isn’t really that great, depending on their rank when they retire, and the medical and other benefits they’re SUPPOSED to get are often shorted or fully neglected. The network of VA hospitals is a national disgrace and should be abandoned in favor of reimbursed treatment in good civilian hospitals and clinics.

There are several conspiracy theories surrounding FEMA camps. The “official” story is that they’re intended as shelter and relocation camps to be used in event of natural disaster, civil disorder, or foreign invasion. Personally, I was never much impressed by FEMA – and the negative image was enforced by what happened in New Orleans. FEMA has generally proved slow to respond, inept at what it does, and subject to way too much political manipulation. The theory that the camps are intended as “concentration camps” to house dissenting U.S. citizens who may resist oppression by their own government is a valid concern – and a distinct possibility I would definitely discount. At the very least, the potential is there.

Medicare and Social Security are both dead for all practical purposes. The trust funds that support these programs are essentially bankrupt, and ObamaCare is siphoning off much of what little remains. As ObamaCare rolls out further, it will be clear that government intervention will severely affect our health care – which they will llimit, our doctors – many of whom will leave medical practice, and our life expectancy. BTW, if you’ve heard the term “death panels” tossed about, they’re already here.

The state of Oregon (my original home state, sadly) has fully signed on to ObamaCare, established the “exchanges” Obama demands, and just this week established rules and policies for end of life determination by committee. The decisions will be made by a combination of unelected government bureaucrats in Washington (who will have access to our medical records) and a panel of local doctors and consultants. The basic rule is that anyone with a disease, condition or injury that – left untreated – would kill them WILL NOT be given any treatment intended to increase life expectancy, and MAY NOT buy such treatment on his/her own. A primary example is metastic cancer – i.e. cancer that spreads from one part of the body to other parts. In short, no surgery, no radiation, no chemo – NOTHING. The only “treatment” provided will be intended to make the patient more comfortable (i.e. reduce pain) pending death. If you’re elderly, sick, or seriously injured and live in Oregon, the first best thing to do is to move to another state!

The potential for social collapse and mass hysteria is greatest with a severe national financial collapse. This gets more likely as our Federal Reserve continues to print more and more worthless currency. Every country that has pursued this policy has eventually gone thru a monetary collapse, often followed by severe internal chaos and/or war with neighboring countries. Germany in the Hitler era is a prime example.

The problem of over-dependence on government support – monetary or otherwise – is another matter. All of the above are problems due to government gone out of control. Dependence on an increasingly socialistic/communistic government is a matter of personal choice by, unfortunately, an increasing number of citizens. It’s been estimated that as many as 75% of U.S. citizens are financially dependent on their local, state or federal government. Truthfully, Social Security, Medicare and Welfare are all socialistic programs – and dependence on any of them tends to create more and more dependence… to the point that some are dependent on ALL of them. If all of these dependency programs go bankrupt then there will be a period of severe difficulty for a large part of the U.S. population. That will be overcome when people learn to depend on themselves, take care of each other, and rely – when necessary – on the charity of their churches, their neighbors and civic groups. Man was meant to help his fellow man, NOT to depend on government bureaucrats.

The truth is, our elected critters either can’t or won’t help use. Only when we start to look out for ourselves, take back the reins of government to primarily local and state level, and limit the power of the federal government to that set forth in our Constitution will things get better. And you can believe that, when we start to do that, there will be major resistance from our federal government – and from some state governments.

I smell a lawsuit coming over this article. There are likely thousands upon thousands of actual idiots just itching to sue the author for being compared to & linked with S.J. Lee.

It is a severe injustice to idiots everywhere to lump them in with her. Websters may not have ever printed any words that could fully describe the genetic mishap that is Shelia Jackson-Lee
