I don’t shop Target anymore because they favor criminals over law abiding citizens and seem to think, based on their new policy, that disarming law abiding citizens for the criminals is a way to create a “family friendly” environment..

Just weeks after Target’s new policy that requests gun owners leave their guns at home, there has now been another shooting on Target property.

Remember, criminals with guns don’t abide by corporate memos, any more than they abide by other laws. This particular shooting, police say, was a drug deal gone bad.
Now… what in the world were those two drug dealers doing with guns in the Target parking lot when Target clearly stated the company doesn’t want guns on their property..
How dore those criminals disregard the corporate memo.. geeze.

Target asked its customers not to carry firearms into their stores in a statement released last month. However, the store did not ban firearms, as clarified by the following statement made to The Columbian,

John Mulligan, CEO of Target Stores stated: ” Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create.” “and,,, starting today we will also respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target – even in communities where it is permitted by law.”

Request…. Target executives REQUEST that we leave our guns at home.. and not bring them on to their property.
Fine.. Its their property.. and requesting law abiding citizens with concealed carry permits who have been trained to stop bad guys with guns are expected to leave their guns behind and come shop in an environment where bad guys with guns know they are disarmed.
Hmmmm… that makes no sense..
So… I will abide by Target’s request and not do business with businesses that cater to the anti gun mentality.

Note to Target: Criminals, crazy people and violent drug abusers/dealers, don’t care about your company or your rules. Your request is an effort to appease both sides but it won’t fly here.
Grow a set and take a stand one way or another.
Until then… I’m shopping elsewhere.

John Mulligan is not now, nor was he ever CEO of Target. He is VP of Marketing. Please do your research a bit better. Other than that, awesome job Jan. Thank you for your work.
