Senator Ted Cruz gets it… and in this brief encounter with a reporter who tried to get him to waffle on background checks due to strong public opinion, he dug in his heels and stood firm.

He, above all other candidates, has not hesitated to take a strong stand in support of gun rights for the American people.
I was on a media panel during one of his first debates in the Senate race.
I grilled him thoroughly on 2nd Amendment issues that night several years ago. He was solid then… and he’s solid now.

This is one of many reasons why, my money and my support are going to Cruz 2016.

At a recent event, GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz was asked the following question:

“In the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, a statistic surfaced putting support for BACKGROUND CHECKS at 90%. Did you go against the want of the nation with your vote against Manchin-Toomey (a bill that would have required BACKGROUND CHECKS on all commercial sales of guns)?”

Cruz responded:

“You know there’s an old line: there are lies, damn lies and statistics.
You’re right, that was a poll that was bandied around a lot, but you can find a lot of results in a poll depending on how you frame the question.
As you and I both know, we have a system of background CHECKS in place right now.

What Manchin-Toomey was trying to do was extend that to every PRIVATE sale between two individuals … two guys in a duck blind selling their shotgun, one to the other. The federal government doesn’t have any business there.

When you asked about the role of public opinion polls, when it comes to Constitutional rights, what matters is what the Bill of Rights says. It doesn’t matter what happens to be popular at the moment.

The entire reason for the Second Amendment is not for hunting, it’s not for target shooting … it’s there so that you and I can PROTECT our homes and our families and our lives. And it’s also there as fundamental check on government tyranny.”

Thank you Senator Cruz.

On Breitbart London, I’ve frequently read comments from American conservatives, asking “Why haven’t we got an American equivalent of Nigel Farage?”

Farage is leader of the UK Independence Party (anti-EU, pro-British sovereignty, anti-uncontrolled immigration, pro-low tax, pro-small government), whose party is currently scaring the living daylights out of the liberal-left consensus parties (Labour, Liberal Democrat and so-called ‘Conservative’ Party) in the run up to our general election on 7th May.

My response is that there are plenty of worthy successors to the late President Reagan in America – but that too many American conservatives lose their nerve and keep voting for the RINOs chosen by the Democrat Lite Republican Party.

Well, having read the response of Senator Cruz, I can only say “There’s your man, conservatives – read, ponder, then back him to the hilt in 2016!”

This part of his reply struck me, VERY forcibly:

“When you asked about the role of public opinion polls, when it comes to Constitutional rights, what matters is what the Bill of Rights says. It doesn’t matter what happens to be popular at the moment.”

Those words should be written across the sky in letters of fire, a mile high. And I sincerely wish the Senator good fortune in 2016.

Ted Cruz was born in Calgary Alberta Canada so he he can’t become president in the first place. The other liberals can’t see he is not the boogie man because they worship Chris the lucky charms leprechaun Matthews. Chris Matthews eats lucky charms with beer and whisky instead of milk that’s how he is so fat drunk and stupid.
